1. Silent Cinema at University Campus (Alsergrund)

The Silent Cinema’s location is in the campus of the University of Vienna. Sand, cozy lounge chairs, cool drinks and two-channel sound over wireless headphones make for a memorable experience. Movies starts at about 9.30 pm.

2. Volxkino (in many different districts)

The Volxkino shows movies in public space like parks, between community buildings or markets.

3. Kino am Dach (Neubau distric)

The “Cinema on the roof” is Vienna’s highest elevated summer cinema. It is located on the roof of the main library at Urban-Loritz-Platz.

4. Kino wie noch nie (Leopoldstadt)

This open-air cinema is in the beautiful ambience of the Augarten, Vienna’s largest public park.

5. Arena Sommerkino  (Simmering)

6. Filmfestival at Rathausplatz (Inner City)

A fixed point for more than two decades. The Film Festival Vienna takes place at the big square in front of the city hall. Here you can not only enjoy movies, but also plenty of live music and a great culinary offer.

7. dotdotdot Kurzfilmfestival (Josefstadt)

This open-air short film festival takes place in the garden of the Folklore Museum Vienna (Laudongasse 19). Visit one of the workshops which are held on selected dates.

9. Kino unter Sternen at Karlsplatz (Wieden)

Probably the most beautiful open-air cinema in Vienna. Located next to the beautiful baroque Karlskirche. The programme focuses on Austrian cinema.
